Historic

History is simply the story of past life and events. As one reads Day by Day, by former pastor, Frank Thomas, decision and direction are noted through which the church lived. Dr. Thomas says, “history is most valuable when it is allowed to be a “teacher” with lessons to impart. The book is subtitled, “A Pilgrimage in Faith.” Since 1910 our church has continued a journey of faith asking God for strength and guidance. The church had a numeric peak in the 1960’s and decline set in thereafter. Our hope is to be a “comeback church” with new vision and direction beyond stagnation and decline and be intentional about growing again. I like a a historic church and thank God for those who faithfully served the Lord through the years.

Our worship services are traditional style, but creatively fresh and dynamic in presentation. Yes, we use the pipe organ, grand piano and other instruments plus a robed choir that blesses us regularly with inspirational music. Our blended service involves the great hymns and relevant contemporary songs. And we have comfortable pews, a lighted candle symbolizing the presence of Christ. We honor the past, worship and serve in the present, and anticipate an exciting future following our Lord Jesus Christ!
